Last Updated: September 2025

At Ability Classifieds, we’re here to help you make the most of your NDIS funding. Whether you're new to the scheme or just looking for clarity, we've broken down the essentials so you can confidently navigate your options.

๐Ÿงพ What Are NDIS Supports?

NDIS supports are services, items, and equipment funded by the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). These supports are designed to help participants:

  • Live more independently

  • Engage in community life

  • Improve health and wellbeing

Supports are grouped into 37 categories, but the list is not exhaustive, meaning if a support fits the general description and isn’t on the non-allowable list, it may still be eligible.

To be considered an NDIS support, it must:

  • โœ… Fit within the general description of allowable supports

  • โŒ Not appear on the non-allowable supports list

๐Ÿ›  Replacement Support List

If your desired support isn’t on the approved list, the NDIS offers a Replacement Support List, a guide to acceptable substitutions.

To apply:     APPLY

  • Submit a written request to the NDIS

  • Follow the detailed rules outlined in the Replacement List
